How I play a key role at Parallel

Oli joined Parallel in 2021, focused on recruiting Software Development contractors in the Benelux region.

He diligently connects candidates and clients, ensuring a favorable outcome for both parties. Oli’s personalised approach guarantees that candidates’ unique skillsets and aspirations align with the right organisations.

As a military ex-serviceman, Oli’s also founded Parallel’s ”Vets in Tech” campaign to spread awareness around how talent teams can create a more inclusive hiring process for military veterans. He does this through a series of interviews with military veterans in the tech industry and hosts CV workshops at Parallel.

Oli is passionate about encouraging more military veterans to get into IT, the role we as recruiters play in supporting veterans in their transition back to ’civvy’ life and the workplace, why military veterans remain an “untapped pool of talent” for the tech world and much more.

"“I joined the army at 16, and since leaving I have chosen to become a reservist meaning I am happy to still serve in my free time. Parallel have offered me fantastic support when I’m required to train and I am proud to be involved in our ‘Vets in Tech’ campaign as it’s a cause close to my heart. I am passionate about what more organisations can be doing to support ex-serviceman going into work, specifically the Tech industry as there are so many transferable skills that would make for a good recruiter, as well as this they have knowledge of the type of cyber security that would be required to support government organisations”"
