Position Summary
Cryptographic Engineer
6 month contract initially (W2)
100% remote, must be based in the US
Must be US citizen or Green Card holder
Up to $100 per hour
Your Role:
- Evaluate and prioritize manual cryptographic processes for automation and self-service enhancements.
- Manage HSMs, Certificate Authorities, and oversee cryptographic lifecycle management.
- Define and implement cutting-edge cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and key management practices.
- Assess and advise on exceptions to cryptographic policies, balancing risk and efficiency.
- Collaborate across business, IT, and cybersecurity teams to align standards with modern technologies.
- Contribute to cryptography governance by developing policies, guidelines, and standards.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of hands-on cryptography experience with proven ability to automate infrastructure and application deployments.
- Experience using Venafi, Thales, ADCS, CipherTrust
- Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
- Expertise in Linux and Windows environments, with strong knowledge of cloud platforms and container tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including vulnerability management, network security, and penetration testing.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a professional approach and excellent communication capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, VMware, and Azure DevOps.
- Current cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CEH, CISSP, CCSP, or ECES).
